TWELVE BASKETS MISSION GIVING
Jesus said to His disciples, “Gather up the fragments so nothing is lost. Therefore they gathered 12 baskets…” (John 6: 12-13). Each month we support a mission activity with a basket collection taken in church on the last Sunday of the month. You may also give on line via the details above.
December Mission: COCOA Christmas Appeal
When the earthquake struck Vanuatu just before Christmas in 2024, lives changed in an instant. Buildings, livelihoods, and places of community were shaken to their foundations. And while the initial emergency response has passed, for many families the struggle to rebuild is far from over.
Every act of compassion, every prayer, every dollar given makes a difference. Together, we can remind the people of Vanuatu that they are not forgotten—and that God’s love is steadfast even when the ground beneath us shakes.

October Mission: Operation Christmas Child
$3000 given to support postage and delivery of over 300 shoeboxes.
Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse. It’s a hands-on way for you to demonstrate God’s love to children in need across the world by filling shoeboxes with toys, hygiene items, school supplies, and fun gifts.
We collect the boxes and distribute them in the name of Jesus Christ to children living in vulnerable situations.
The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to provide God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
July Mission: Scripture Union - $985
Scripture Union (SU) Tasmania is part of SU Australia, a Christian not‑for‑profit organisation focused on helping children, young people, and families explore the Christian faith.
SU has operated in Tasmania for nearly 60 years and partners with churches and communities statewide to give children, young people and their families opportunities to discover life in God’s big story.
SU Tasmania continues to provide statewide Christian youth programs, chaplaincy, and outdoor activities as part of SU Australia’s mission.
June Mission: Operation Warm - Rokeby Neighbourhood House - $1457
“Our mission is to ensure that no one in our community faces the harsh conditions of winter without support. Operation Warm is a community-driven program dedicated to supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness or financial hardship.
Through the generosity of donors and volunteers and Rokeby OP Shop, we provide essential items such as warm clothing, blankets, and other necessities to help people stay safe and comfortable during cold weather.”
May Mission: Open Doors - $1295
Open Doors was founded when Brother Andrew began smuggling Bibles into Eastern Europe.
Since 1955, Open Doors has been serving the persecuted and strengthening the Church.
As the world’s largest underground network serving the persecuted church, Open Doors reaches millions of believers in over 70 countries each year as they shine Christ’s light in some of the darkest places.
Open Doors works through long-term on-the-ground partners who are best placed to create projects that respond and adapt to the unique needs of persecuted Christians in their own community.
THE FOOD CUPBOARD
As part of our vision for the future, we’re excited to expand our mission focus to support our local community. Rokeby Neighbourhood House/Centre does incredible work helping families through tough times and we’re pleased to partner with them.
We’ve launched The Food Cupboard – a simple yet powerful way to make a difference. A donation box is in the foyer where you can contribute long-life food items such as canned food, rice, pasta, sauces, and other pantry staples.
These donations are collected and distributed by Rokeby Neighbourhood Centre to families in need.
