Are you a keen gardener? Do you make jams, sauces or pickles? The “Half Dead” group have worked for years to raise funds by selling plants & other produce – they go to the Sorell Market on public holidays . They’ve raised thousands of $$$$ to support mission projects both in Australia & overseas………. and they are happy to recruit more suppliers & sellers at the market!
You are invited to spend some leisure time joining in with other seniors fortnightly on Wednesday mornings from 10 – 12 noon to play Scrabble or a variety of card games over morning tea – just check with the church as to when the next meet is….. We call the group “Seniors’ Moments” – can’t remember why…
We have a range of activities that are aimed at supporting and resourcing people doing mission in other places.
We have a strongly supported a range of mission projects through our denominational mission organisation, GMP. These include countries such as Zimbabwe, South Sudan, Vietnam, Cambodia, and many others where they have limited resources and when they have been through natural tragedy. We have also been able to support locally during times of hardship like the bushfires, floods, etc.
We have a growing relationship with Samaritan’s Purse (Tasmania) and have a number of people who are involved with them from our community; we are continuing to explore a developing partnership together.
